Who we are
Nautica Metal Scrap B.V., Haltestraat 18, 2042 LM, Zandvoort, Netherlands. Registered under KVK number 67319696. Contact: info@nauticametalscrap.com.
We act as data controller for information you submit through this site or send us by email, WhatsApp or telephone in the context of scrap metal enquiries and contracts.
What we collect
We collect only the information needed to answer B2B enquiries and execute contracts.
- Contact details you submit (name, company, email, phone, country).
- Quotation content (grades, tonnage, destination port, Incoterms, target price).
- Correspondence and quotation history for the duration of our commercial relationship.
- Standard server logs (IP, user agent, timestamps) generated by our hosting provider for security and abuse-prevention.
- Anonymous analytics on page views so we can improve product content.
How we use it
We use your data to prepare and send quotations, negotiate and execute sales contracts, generate shipping and inspection documentation, and comply with export, customs and anti-money-laundering obligations. We do not sell your data.
Order-related information is shared only with parties that need it to fulfil the contract — for example inspection agencies (SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek, CCIC), shipping lines, our bank, and customs authorities.
Legal basis (GDPR)
Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract or pre-contract steps) for quotation and order data, Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest) for security logs and product-improvement analytics, and Article 6(1)(c) (legal obligation) where retention is mandated by Dutch tax or customs law.
Retention
Quotation and correspondence data is retained for the duration of the commercial relationship plus seven years, in line with Dutch tax retention rules. Server logs are retained for a maximum of 12 months. Anonymous analytics are aggregated and retained indefinitely.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Send requests to info@nauticametalscrap.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch data-protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
International transfers
Because we ship worldwide, execution of a contract usually requires transferring shipping and payment data to parties outside the EEA (buyer's bank, buyer's clearing agent, destination customs). These transfers are made only to the extent necessary to perform the contract, in line with Article 49(1)(b) GDPR.
