ISRI 316 Molybdenum-Bearing

    Stainless Steel 316 Scrap Supplier

316 stainless steel scrap is the molybdenum-bearing grade preferred by acid-resistant alloy producers, chemical-equipment manufacturers and high-end re-rollers. Nautica Metal Scrap B.V. segregates 316 from 304 streams at our European yards using PMI/XRF guns, then loads containers in Rotterdam for delivery worldwide.

    Product specification — 316 / 18-10-2

AISI 316 composition: 16.0–18.0% Cr, 10.0–14.0% Ni, 2.0–3.0% Mo, C ≤ 0.08%. Because of the molybdenum content, 316 trades at a substantial premium to 304 and must be physically segregated. We supply 316 as heavy solids (pipe, vessel, valve bodies), light solids (sheet offcuts, fabricator drops) and dry turnings.

    ISRI specification and segregation

Material is offered under ISRI 'Stainless Steel Scrap, Mo-Bearing' (commonly 316). Every piece is PMI-tested before being assigned to the 316 pile — this is the only way to avoid 304 cross-contamination, which would destroy the price premium for the buyer's melt.

    Packaging

Solids load loose at 20–23 MT per 20GP. Turnings load loose at 18–22 MT per 20GP. We avoid 40HQ for stainless because density makes 20GP the efficient unit. Each container is photographed loaded and again at seal.

    Inspection and documentation

SGS or Bureau Veritas inspection at load port covers weight, moisture, oil content and PMI confirmation. Document set: invoice, packing list, B/L, weighbridge slips, PMI report and SGS certificate. Payment 30% TT + 70% LC at sight is standard; CAD against scan available for repeat buyers.

    Rotterdam loading and freight

Containers leave Rotterdam weekly on the main lines to India, Pakistan, UAE, Turkey and Far East. We block freight per container so CIF offers are locked at the time of contract — no freight escalation between order and B/L.
