Zorba is a shredded mixed non-ferrous metal stream — predominantly aluminum (typically 50–80%), with copper, brass, zinc, magnesium and stainless. It is recovered downstream of ferrous magnet separation in auto/white-goods shredders and upgraded via eddy-current separators and density (sink-float) tables.
ISRI defines Zorba as shredded non-ferrous metals originating from end-of-life vehicles and household appliances, with grade subdivisions Zorba 90, Zorba 95 and Zorba 98 reflecting non-ferrous content percentage. Our standard offer is Zorba 95 — 95% minimum non-ferrous, balance steel/inert. Higher purity (Zorba 98, near-pure aluminum) available on request.
Zorba ships loose in 40HQ containers at 22–26 MT depending on density and moisture. We pre-screen each lot for size (typically 6–250 mm pieces) and moisture before loading. Photos of the loaded box are part of the standard document pack.
Each parcel is offered with an indicative compositional analysis (Al, Cu, Zn, Mg, stainless, inerts) based on melt sampling and density tests. SGS, CCIC or Cotecna draft-survey inspection is available at buyer's cost; final analysis on melt is a recognised arbitration method.
