Tungsten & Specialty Alloys specifications
Tungsten-bearing scrap is a heterogeneous secondary raw material and is not traded on ISRI grade codes. These specifications describe typical material characteristics, identification, contamination and deduction factors, sampling and packing — they are not guaranteed contractual specifications. Background reading: tungsten carbide scrap pillar guide.
Mixed hard tungsten carbide scrap: unsegregated sintered WC-Co (cemented carbide / hardmetal) components from multiple industrial origins, traded on a lot-by-lot basis after inspection and any agreed analysis.
Download TDS (PDF)Solid tungsten carbide cutting tool scrap: worn and rejected indexable inserts, end mills, drills, reamers, rods and dies arising from machining operations, tool rooms and regrind shops.
Download TDS (PDF)Mining, construction and industrial wear tungsten carbide scrap: drill bit buttons and inserts, road and tunnelling picks, oil and gas carbide and wear components, typically arising with steel bodies, rock debris and site soiling.
Download TDS (PDF)Tungsten carbide soft scrap: unsintered powder, grinding sludge, swarf and fine tungsten-bearing residues arising from carbide manufacturing, grinding and finishing operations.
Download TDS (PDF)Pure tungsten metal scrap and tungsten heavy alloy scrap: elemental tungsten articles and liquid-phase-sintered tungsten-nickel alloys, distinct in composition and recovery route from cemented WC-Co carbide.
Download TDS (PDF)Molybdenum scrap: unalloyed molybdenum and molybdenum alloys such as TZM in sheet, plate, rod, boat, shield, electrode and machining form, traded lot by lot after identification and any agreed analysis.
Download TDS (PDF)Cobalt and cobalt alloy scrap: solids, castings, wear components, turnings and hardfaced items from cobalt-base wear and high-temperature alloy families, evaluated lot by lot after identification and any agreed analysis.
Download TDS (PDF)Nickel and nickel alloy scrap: solids, plate and pipe offcuts, process equipment, fabrication arisings and turnings from nickel-base corrosion-resistant and high-temperature alloy families, segregated by grade where possible and evaluated lot by lot.
Download TDS (PDF)Titanium and titanium alloy scrap: solids, plate and bar offcuts, forging arisings, turnings and fabrication rejects from commercially pure and alloyed titanium, traded lot by lot after identification and any agreed analysis.
Download TDS (PDF)High speed steel scrap: worn and reground tooling, broken tools, blanks, bar ends and turnings from molybdenum-series and tungsten-series HSS families, evaluated lot by lot after identification and any agreed analysis.
Download TDS (PDF)Tool steel and die steel scrap: die blocks, mould bases and cavities, punches, dies, bar ends and machining arisings from cold-work, hot-work, plastic-mould and shock-resisting tool steel families, evaluated lot by lot.
