    Tungsten & Specialty Alloys specifications

Tungsten-bearing scrap is a heterogeneous secondary raw material and is not traded on ISRI grade codes. These specifications describe typical material characteristics, identification, contamination and deduction factors, sampling and packing — they are not guaranteed contractual specifications. Background reading: tungsten carbide scrap pillar guide.

Mixed hard tungsten carbide (WC-Co hardmetal)

Mixed hard tungsten carbide scrap: unsegregated sintered WC-Co (cemented carbide / hardmetal) components from multiple industrial origins, traded on a lot-by-lot basis after inspection and any agreed analysis.

Solid carbide cutting and tooling scrap

Solid tungsten carbide cutting tool scrap: worn and rejected indexable inserts, end mills, drills, reamers, rods and dies arising from machining operations, tool rooms and regrind shops.

Mining, construction and industrial wear carbide

Mining, construction and industrial wear tungsten carbide scrap: drill bit buttons and inserts, road and tunnelling picks, oil and gas carbide and wear components, typically arising with steel bodies, rock debris and site soiling.
