Quality & Compliance
Quality is the single control that makes our contracts repeatable. This page describes the sorting, inspection and documentation controls Nautica Metal Scrap B.V. applies to every export container, and how we comply with EU waste-shipment and export rules.

Sorting to ISRI grade
All non-ferrous and ferrous material is sorted at the Rotterdam yard to the applicable ISRI grade (Barley, Berry, Birch/Cliff, Druid, Taldon, Talon, Tense, Twitch, Zorba, Zurik, Honey, HMS 1&2, Shredded 211, and others). Prompt-industrial arisings are kept separate from post-consumer streams to guarantee chemistry.
XRF handheld analysers are used at receipt and again at loading for copper, brass and stainless grades. Aluminium wheels and UBC bales are density-checked and moisture-verified before container assignment.
Third-party inspection
Buyers may nominate SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or CCIC for pre-shipment inspection at Rotterdam. Inspection typically covers weight verification, container-by-container photo evidence, XRF chemistry, moisture, and packing/sealing witness. The inspection certificate is included in the document set delivered to the buyer's bank.
Loading and documentation
Every container is loaded under a written loading plan (loose, bulk-bag, palletised or baled) matching the grade, and photographed inside and out prior to sealing. A container-level packing list, weight ticket, seal number log and photo pack is prepared for each shipment.
- Commercial invoice and packing list matched to the LC / TT terms
- Bill of Lading (B/L) issued by the nominated shipping line
- Certificate of Origin (EUR.1 where preferential) and, when required, EX-1 export declaration
- SGS / BV / Intertek / CCIC inspection certificate on request
- Annex VII (EU 1013/2006 waste-shipment) documentation for regulated streams
- Bank documents released against 30% TT + 70% LC at sight or as otherwise agreed
EU waste-shipment compliance
Cargo moves under EU Regulation 1013/2006 on shipments of waste, using Annex VII documentation for green-listed metal scrap streams (aluminium, copper, brass, stainless, ferrous). Destination-country notification requirements are respected on a shipment-by-shipment basis. We do not export streams that fall outside the green-listed regime without the necessary prior-informed-consent notifications.
