High purity copper millberry scrap — bare bright copper wire for export from Nautica Metal Scrap B.V.

    What Is Copper Millberry Scrap?

Copper Millberry Scrap is the highest grade of copper scrap available in the international recycling market. It consists of bare, bright, uncoated copper wire that has been stripped of all insulation, producing a material with a minimum purity of 99.9% copper content.

The processing method involves mechanically stripping insulated copper cables, removing PVC, rubber, and other coatings to expose the pure copper conductor beneath. The resulting product is clean, bright-colored copper wire free from tin, solder, oil, and other contaminants.

Copper millberry is extensively used in copper rod drawing mills, electrical cable manufacturing, copper cathode production, and secondary smelting operations. Its high purity makes it the preferred feedstock for producing new copper products without additional refining.

At Nautica Metal Scrap B.V., we source millberry scrap from established European collection and processing networks, ensuring consistent quality that meets the strict import standards of Chinese, Indian, and Turkish smelters.

Why Buy Copper Millberry Scrap From Nautica Metal Scrap B.V.

Nautica Metal Scrap B.V. is a Netherlands-registered international scrap metal supplier and exporter. Buyers work with us directly — there is no broker chain between the material and the container — and each enquiry is answered by the same export desk that prepares the shipping documents.

Our company registration details, address and contact information are published on our company page, and every offer is issued on Nautica Metal Scrap B.V. letterhead with the specification, quantity, Incoterm and loading port stated in writing before contract.

Bulk Copper Scrap Supply From Europe

As a bulk copper scrap supplier working from European collection networks, we consolidate millberry copper alongside other copper scrap grades — including copper wire scrap, Birch/Cliff copper scrap and copper chops. Buyers can combine grades across a monthly programme rather than buying spot lots only.

Typical enquiries range from a single 25 MT container to repeat monthly volumes. Buyers looking for a broader European sourcing overview can read our copper scrap suppliers in Europe page or our copper scrap supplier Netherlands guide.

    International Copper Scrap Export

We export copper scrap from Rotterdam to buyers across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa — including India, China, Vietnam, South Korea, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkey and Egypt. Sailing frequency from Rotterdam means container bookings to most of these markets are available weekly.

See our metal scrap export overview and Rotterdam port operations for details on loading, customs handling and container despatch.

    Quality Inspection & Documentation

Third-party pre-shipment inspection can be arranged on request through SGS, Intertek or Bureau Veritas, at buyer's or seller's account as agreed in the contract. Where inspection is contracted, the inspection certificate is issued before vessel departure and included in the document set.

Standard export documentation includes the commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading, together with certificate of origin and inspection certificate where applicable. Full document flow is described on our export process pages.

    Packaging & Container Loading

Millberry copper is supplied loose loaded or baled and loaded into 20ft or 40ft high-cube containers. Containers are lined where required, sealed after loading, and photographed before despatch so the buyer receives loading evidence together with the shipping documents.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    What is copper millberry scrap?

Copper millberry scrap is high-purity (99.9%+) bare bright copper wire obtained from stripping insulated copper cables. It is classified as ISRI Berry grade and is the highest quality copper scrap available for recycling.

What is the HS Code for copper millberry scrap?

Copper millberry scrap falls under HS Code 7404.00 for copper waste and scrap. This code is recognized internationally for customs and trade documentation.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Our minimum order quantity is 25 metric tons, equivalent to one full 20ft container load. We also offer 40ft HC containers for larger orders.

    Do you provide SGS inspection?

Third-party pre-shipment inspection through SGS, Intertek or Bureau Veritas can be arranged on request. Where inspection is agreed in the contract, the certificate is issued before vessel departure and supplied with the shipping documents.

Which port do you load copper millberry scrap from?

All copper scrap is loaded from Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Rotterdam offers direct weekly container services to the main copper import markets in Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Can you supply copper scrap to buyers in India and China?

Yes. We regularly quote copper scrap on CIF and CFR terms to Indian and Chinese ports, as well as Vietnam, South Korea, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkey and Egypt. Import compliance requirements are confirmed per destination before contract.

What is the difference between millberry copper and copper wire scrap?

Millberry is bare bright, unalloyed copper wire with approximately 99.9% copper. General copper wire scrap can include tinned, coated or lightly insulated wire and therefore carries a lower recoverable copper yield.

    Container Loading Capacity

Loaded weight per container is calculated on a calibrated 60-tonne weighbridge at our Rotterdam yard. Photographs and bridge tickets accompany every shipment for copper millberry scrap.

    Buyer FAQ

What ISRI grade does your Millberry meet?

ISRI Barley specification: bare, bright, uncoated copper wire of 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) and over, free of tin, solder, paint and other coatings — minimum 99.90% Cu.

Do you accept LC at sight?

Yes. Our standard terms are 30% TT advance plus 70% LC at sight against full shipping documents. Buyers with established history can negotiate 100% LC at sight.

Can buyers nominate the inspection company?

Yes. SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek, CCIC and TÜV are all welcome at our Rotterdam yard. The buyer instructs the inspector directly; we invoice the inspection cost at actual.

What is the typical lead time after contract signature?

Loading is scheduled within 7–14 days of receiving the 30% advance, subject to stock availability and vessel space at the Port of Rotterdam.

What LME formula applies to Millberry contracts?

Millberry is quoted at 96–97% of the LME 3-month Copper Grade A settlement, CIF main Asian port, with the pricing date fixed as the mean of the five days around bill-of-lading date unless the buyer requests M+1 or QP average.

How is the wire packaged for containerisation?

Millberry ships either loose in gaylord bins, in 250–500 kg pressed bales, or on shrink-wrapped Euro pallets. Bales maximise 20'GP payload at 23–24 MT; loose loading is used when the buyer's yard has a magnetic overhead crane.

Is burnt or annealed wire acceptable under Millberry?

No. The ISRI Barley specification explicitly excludes burnt wire that is brittle. Any suspect lots are downgraded to Birch and priced accordingly — we do not co-load Millberry with fire-recovered material.

Do you supply chemistry certificates with every shipment?

Yes. Every container ships with an XRF analysis sheet drawn at the loading bay. Full ICP-OES chemistry from an accredited lab (Alcontrol, SGS Geleen) is available on buyer request at cost.

Can Millberry be blended with No.1 copper busbars?

Only under a written waiver — Barley is a single-form specification. Buyers who accept a mixed Berry/Candy load pay the lower of the two prices, which is why we default to separate cargoes.

What is the maximum monthly volume you can commit?

Rolling monthly capacity is 400–600 MT of Millberry against firm annual contract, backed by industrial cable-plant off-take agreements in the Benelux and Germany.

Which destination ports do you ship Millberry to most often?

Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Shanghai, Ningbo, Busan, Ho Chi Minh, Bangkok, Port Klang, Jebel Ali and Mersin are our top-ten destinations for Millberry cargo.

How do you protect against moisture on long transits?

Bales are stored under roof, containers are lined with kraft paper and desiccant bags are inserted for tropical destinations. Weighing is conducted immediately before container doors close.
