Every Nautica container can be inspected by SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or CCIC at the Rotterdam loading yard. The inspector observes stuffing, draws representative samples, verifies weights, seals the container and issues the pre-shipment inspection certificate before the bill of lading is released.

SGS, Bureau Veritas (BV) and Intertek are on-call at our Rotterdam yard with same-day dispatch. CCIC is scheduled with 48 hours' notice for China-bound cargo. Cotecna, TÜV and OMIC are also available on buyer nomination. The buyer names the agency in the sales contract; the inspection cost is included in the CIF price when the buyer nominates the standard agency for the destination country.
The inspector attends the loading yard, verifies the empty container photograph, observes stuffing from empty to sealed, records gross/tare/net weights against the weighbridge tickets, draws a representative sample (typically 30 kg composite per container for non-ferrous grades) for chemistry, verifies the container number and seal number, and issues the pre-shipment inspection certificate. Certificates are released to the buyer, the freight forwarder and the L/C bank as required.
India requires a BIS-1 pre-shipment inspection certificate for shredded ferrous and non-ferrous. China requires the CCIC pre-shipment certificate under AQSIQ / GACC rules. Turkey requires TSE. Egypt requires GOEIC. Saudi Arabia requires SASO conformity. Our documentation pack ships with the correct destination-country certificate — no separate arrangement required from the buyer.
For non-ferrous grades the inspector draws a 30 kg composite sample across the container fill, splits it, XRF-tests one split and retains the other in a sealed bag as the arbitration sample. For clean segregated grades (UBC, 6063, Millberry) chemistry is largely a formality — the composite typically returns within ±0.5% of contract spec. For mixed grades (Zorba, Twitch, Taint/Tabor) the composite is the contractual chemistry reference.
