Stage 2 — Material Sourcing and Yard Consolidation

Once a contract is signed, the tonnage is allocated from confirmed European supplier stock and trucked to our Rotterdam yard for consolidation, radiation screening, weighbridge control and XRF testing before staging for container loading.

    European supplier network

Nautica sources exclusively from licensed European operators: automotive and white-goods shredders in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium; extrusion fabricators in Germany and Italy; wire-strip and cable recovery yards in Belgium and France; and demolition contractors in the wider Benelux. Every supplier is on our approved-vendor list with EU waste-handling licences on file. We do not buy from unlicensed informal operators.

    Yard consolidation at Rotterdam

Consolidation happens at our Rotterdam yard within the port area. Trucks arrive by appointment, pass through the fixed portal radiation monitor, cross the calibrated 60-tonne weighbridge, and unload into grade-segregated bays. Loose grades are pre-sorted; bales are stacked; densified UBC pucks are palletised. Each bay has a physical lot number that follows the material through XRF testing to container stuffing.

    Gate controls: radiation, weighbridge, XRF

Every inbound truck is: (1) radiation-scanned at the gate portal — any positive alarm quarantines the load and returns it to the supplier at their cost; (2) weighed loaded and empty for net delivery; (3) sampled at the tipping point (30 kg composite per truck for non-ferrous grades) and XRF-tested for aluminum/copper/zinc/iron chemistry. Rejected lots are turned around within 24 hours.

    Lot control and traceability

Every accepted lot receives a unique lot number, a photograph set (truck, tipping, sample, XRF result), and a supplier reference on file. When a container is stuffed, the packing list records which lots contributed — giving full downstream traceability if a buyer or destination inspector queries origin.
